Make The Take
Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
Make The Take ("we", "us") operates the website at
www.makethetake.com. This policy explains what
we collect, why, and how we handle it. We keep data collection minimal — only
what's needed to run the product.
What we collect
- Phone number and/or email address — used to verify your identity when you sign in. One of these is required to create an account.
- Your handle and profile details — public, chosen by you (or auto-generated on signup), visible to other fans on leaderboards.
- Takes you make — which side you picked on each proposition, timestamps, and whether they were correct after grading.
- Notification preferences and consent records — whether you opted into account alerts, when you opted in or out, and related request details such as IP address and user-agent.
- Session and security data — cookies, IP address, and user-agent strings used to keep you signed in and to prevent abuse.
How we use it
- To verify that you own the phone number or email you use to sign in.
- To show your takes, record, and standing on leaderboards alongside other fans.
- To send optional account alerts about your takes, results, scoring outcomes, leaderboards, packs, and groups if you opt in.
- To keep your account secure and rate-limit abusive requests.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share only what's strictly
necessary with a small number of service providers who help us run the product:
- Firebase (Google) — to verify phone and email sign-ins.
- SlickText — to deliver SMS account alerts and manage SMS opt-out requests if you opt in to those alerts.
- Heroku (Salesforce) — to host the application and database.
- Anthropic — to generate proposition content and grade outcomes (user takes and phone/email addresses are never sent to Anthropic).
Your choices
- You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to a message from us. See our SMS Terms for full detail.
- Verification-code consent and optional account-alert consent are separate. Signing in by SMS does not opt you into result, leaderboard, or promotional texts.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@makethetake.com.
- You can sign in with either phone or email; if you don't want to give us one, you can use the other.
Children
Make The Take is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect

support@makethetake.com and we'll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes,
we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
